The Poetry Foundation, located at 61 W. Superior Street is poetry’s first real public home – a place solely dedicated to the art of poetry. It celebrates the story of the publishing of Poetry Magazine which was designed to shed a light on poetry and poets who were trying to pursue their passion for this medium. The 100-year old foundation, built by famed the Chicago architecture firm John Ronan Architects, houses a breathtaking 3,000-volume poetry library and a dynamic performance area dedicated to the Foundation’s variety of popular events and programming opportunities.  An engaging exhibition gallery showcases an impressive array of world-famous poets and their works.
