Magnificent Mile Lights Festival

Saturday before Thanksgiving
Over a million lights illuminate Michigan Avenue, and a nighttime parade features festive floats, giant balloons, marching bands, and popular characters, along with a fireworks show over the Chicago River.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks

December 31st
Ring in the new year with a spectacular show launched from six bridges along the Chicago River and another dazzling display over Lake Michigan at Navy Pier. Both free events ignite at midnight.

St. Patrick’s Day Chicago River Dyeing

March 17 (Saturday before if it falls midweek)
Every year for St. Patrick's Day, the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Union dyes a section of the Chicago River a vibrant emerald green. This unique tradition started in 1962.

CloudWalk is an outdoor viewing platform at 360 CHICAGO, offering breathtaking panoramic city views from 1,030 feet above Michigan Avenue. The mural Locals Only is an educational and engaging attraction for tourists and locals alike. It highlights the beauty and significance of Chicago’s neighborhoods, encouraging visitors to explore the city beyond the downtown area.
